The M division started work on 1 May 1972 as BMW Motorsport GmbH, and the first M3 in 1986 was the road version of a car built for Group A racing. The current M4 has a 3.0 l inline-six, M xDrive all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic, and reaches 100 km/h in 3.5 s. Who it suits and who it does not
The voucher suits a father who drives himself and wants to spend more than an hour behind the wheel: for a day, a weekend or a week. The age of 21 and 2 years of driving experience are usually no problem for grown-up children giving the gift, but it is better to check the experience and the licence expiry date in advance. It does not work where the recipient has no licence or has less than two years of experience. It is also not for someone who only wants a ride as a passenger: the voucher is issued for a self-drive rental. A father can travel with children if the car allows it. In Poland a child under 150 cm tall travels in a child seat, and a rear-facing seat must not be placed on a seat with an active airbag. Ask a manager how many seats and what mountings the chosen model has before you give the gift, not at pickup.
How to hand it over and choose the date
Father’s Day in Poland is marked on 23 June, a fixed date that does not depend on the day of the week. In 2027 it is a Wednesday, and it will not be a day off: the law on days free from work lists only public holidays and Sundays, and Father’s Day is not there. Hand over the voucher on Wednesday morning or evening, and set the drive itself for a Saturday or Sunday: 19-20 June before the holiday or 26-27 June after it.

On the day of the rental your father will need a passport or ID, a driving licence and a bank card in his name for the deposit. The size of the deposit depends on the model. Put a reminder about the documents in the same card as the voucher so they are not left at home.
It is best to make the moment of handover specific: write the name of the car or the package, the date of the drive and the pickup city in the card. If your father works on Wednesday, tell him in advance to keep the nearest weekend free, otherwise the gift will get stuck in the calendar. This is how it looks on the day of the voucher. Your father picks up the car in Warsaw in the morning and reaches Nieborów by 10:00, when the museum is open and the gardens are running. In the afternoon he returns through Kampinos National Park, where you can stop without a detour. Agree the return of the car in advance so the evening does not turn into a race against time. If the day is the 8-hour one, choose one of the three routes in full rather than trying to drive them all.
Nieborów and Arkadia form one museum complex. The gardens are open from April to September, 10:00 to 18:00, and in bad weather they may be closed without warning. There is free parking by the palace fence in Nieborów and at the entrance to Arkadia.
Kampinos National Park is linked to a UNESCO biosphere reserve created in 2000, with a reserve area of 76,232 ha. The Warsaw districts of Bielany and Bemowo lie within the park boundaries, so you can drive into the forest without a long journey: a good option when you want the day to be about more than the road.
Kazimierz Dolny is known for the Hill of Three Crosses, a tower, ravines and Renaissance architecture, and it gets more than a million tourists a year. There is no parking information on the town’s website, so in high season it is worth checking in advance where to leave the car.
