Valentine's Day gift for him: an experience he will remember
Gift idea for 14 February: a car rental voucher in Warsaw, three cars for a trip for two, winter routes, tyres and what the recipient needs to bring.
In short. A gift for a man for 14 February from the Aurex fleet is a voucher for a car rental in Warsaw: he drives himself, the driver must be 21 or older with at least 2 years of licence history. The certificate is valid for 12 months from the purchase date and can be passed to another person. For a winter trip for two, the Huracán EVO Spyder, the BMW M8 Competition and the all-wheel-drive Audi RS 3 fit.
Rental voucher: what the recipient gets
The gift certificates page offers five formats: a rental for 8 hours, for 1 day, for 3 days, for 7 days, and an open certificate that can be spent on any rental. Insurance is included, and the details are in the contract. An amount or a date can go in the order comment. If you cannot choose a package, write a few words about the recipient and a manager will advise.
Unlike most experience gifts, there is no instructor in the passenger seat and no closed track. The recipient takes the car onto ordinary roads and chooses the route himself. Aurex has no passenger-ride format, so to be clear: if the man does not drive or has under two years of licence history, this gift will not suit him.
For 14 February a short package makes sense: 8 hours covers an evening with dinner, 1 day a trip out of town back by night. A 3-day weekend works for going farther. The open certificate is handy when the date is unknown: you hand it over on Valentine’s Day, and the drive can happen in spring.
Three cars for a day or an evening for two
A trip for two needs no rear seats, only traction on a wet, cold road and a clear character. Below are three fleet cars with all-wheel drive. Some cars in the range also have rear-wheel-drive variants, so check the drive type in the listing.
The Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder has two seats, with room for a passenger and luggage for exactly two; the manufacturer does not state the boot volume. Under the electrically folding soft top sits a naturally aspirated 5.2 L V10 with 640 hp, all-wheel drive and acceleration to 100 km/h in 3.1 s. It suits an evening, not a long road: Top Gear reviews remark on the seating position and the screen legibility with the roof open, and the suspension in Sport mode is stiff on poor surfaces. For a long winter route it suits worse than the others.
The BMW M8 Competition is built for a longer drive. The V8 4.4 L gives 460 kW (625 hp) and 750 N·m, it reaches 100 km/h in 3.2 s, and the M xDrive system leans toward the rear axle. The cabin has four seats, but the rear ones are tight, so it suits two best. The 420 L boot takes a bag and a present. Top Gear calls it a fast grand tourer, and Autocar writes that the speed is delivered smoothly and the gearbox shifts smoothly.
The Audi RS 3 is for someone who wants a hot car without a show. The five-cylinder 2.5 TFSI produces 294 kW (400 hp) and 500 N·m, acceleration to 100 km/h takes 3.8 s, and the drive is quattro with the RS Torque Splitter and a seven-speed S tronic. The 2025 fleet version is a post-facelift car. In adaptive mode the suspension, by Top Gear’s assessment, is comparable to mainstream hatchbacks. Reviews note delays in S tronic downshifts, so know that in advance.
Where to drive for two from Warsaw on 14 February
14 February 2027 falls on a Sunday. By calculation for Warsaw, sunset is around 16:45-16:50, so after five it is already dark. Build the route so the last stretch home does not fall at night on icy bridges. More routes are in the article about weekend trips from Warsaw.
Kazimierz Dolny. It is about 140-150 km away, and the drive takes under two hours. The centre is closed to cars: you have to leave the car in a paid car park, and guidebooks call the one by the castle on Zamkowa street the most convenient. Out of season, spaces are usually easier. In winter some guesthouses and restaurants cut their hours, so book a Sunday table in advance. We did not check February museum hours, so confirm them before leaving. With 140-150 km each way, this option suits 1 day, not an evening.
Żelazowa Wola. The distance to the Chopin house-museum is 46 to 54 km depending on the source, so the trip is shorter. The museum has a separate winter schedule from November to February, but publications give different closing hours, so check the website of the National Fryderyk Chopin Institute. It is two to three times closer than Kazimierz and leaves more margin before dark on a Sunday.
Kampinos Forest. About 30 minutes from Warsaw. Entry to the national park is free, the car may be left only in marked car parks, and driving on forest tracks outside public roads is forbidden. Forest access roads can have sand and ice, so for a low sports car choose paved approaches to the official car parks. In winter, skiing is allowed on the walking trails. It is the nearest option: the drive takes about half an hour, and for an evening it suits better than the rest.
Winter, tyres and drive
Poland has no calendar obligation to fit winter tyres: the road traffic law gives neither a date nor a temperature. The police nevertheless recommend winter tyres, and the tyre makers’ industry association advises changing the set when the average daily temperature falls below 7 degrees. Ask the manager when booking which tyres are fitted in February.
The all-wheel drive on the three cars above applies to the versions described in the listings, and it helps with pulling away and holding traction. It says nothing about braking distance, and there are no manufacturer comparisons. So the winter driving rules are the same for any car. The Masovian Voivodeship police advise driving much slower than usual, keeping a bigger gap, braking gently and, where possible, with the engine. Bridges, viaducts and shade ice over first. For a trip out of town the police advise taking a scraper, a shovel, a blanket, water, a thermos, a charged phone with a powerbank and a full tank. More on the rules in the article about winter driving in Poland.
How to present it, choose a date and what the recipient needs
Choose a package on the certificates page, press “Order a certificate”, give a first name, last name and phone, and an e-mail if you like. After the request a manager will contact you. Order in advance so the certificate is in your hands by 14 February, not still under discussion.
You do not have to give a trip date: the certificate is valid for 12 months from the purchase date, so you can hand it over on Valentine’s Day and pick a fine day to drive. Agree the weekend with the manager beforehand. If the recipient cannot go himself, the certificate can be passed to another person.
On pick-up day the recipient needs a passport or ID, a driving licence and a bank card in his name for the refundable deposit. The driver must be 21 or older, the licence must be valid, with at least two years of history, and no serious traffic violations. An additional driver is named in the contract. Pick-up is at the Warsaw office, and the handover report is signed when the car is received. The terms are on the rental conditions page.
Other experience gift ideas
If a car voucher does not suit, people usually choose other experiences for 14 February: a restaurant dinner, tickets to a concert, theatre or cinema, a workshop, an escape room, a short trip with an overnight stay, a handmade gift. There are also runs on a closed track: laps with an instructor or as a passenger, a format different from rental, and our fleet does not have it.
According to surveys, the most common Valentine’s plan is an evening at home, then a restaurant, and a short trip is chosen rarely. In January 2026 a survey of 500 people found that 45% planned to stay home, 32% to go to a restaurant and 6% to take a short trip. The figures differ from other surveys where a trip is named more often, so treat them with caution. The conclusion is simple: a car voucher is a big gift for two, not a standard gift on a small budget.
Who this gift suits and who it does not
The voucher suits a man who has a licence with two or more years of history, is 21 or older and wants to sit behind the wheel himself. It works best as a gift for a couple: instead of two hours in a restaurant, an evening or a day with a route. If you hand it over in advance and drive later, 12 months is enough to wait for good weather.
It will not suit someone who does not drive, is under 21 or has less than two years of licence history. It will not suit someone expecting a ride with an instructor or as a passenger either: Aurex has no such format. If you are unsure about dates, choose the open certificate and agree the weekend with the manager in advance.
Frequently asked questions
What to buy a boyfriend for Valentine’s Day if he has no hobbies? Choose an experience, not an object: a dinner, tickets to an event, a trip or a car rental voucher. The voucher suits him if he drives and is 21 or older.
Do you need to be in Poland to use the voucher? Cars are handed over in Warsaw, and delivery to other places is possible by arrangement. If the recipient lives in another city, agree this with the manager before buying.
How long is a car rental voucher valid? 12 months from the purchase date. During that time the certificate can be combined with a day rental and passed to another person. The terms are current on the vouchers page.
Can you give a voucher if the recipient does not drive? The recipient must be at the wheel, and if he cannot go he may pass the certificate to another person. The driver must be 21 or older, with a valid licence and at least two years of history.
Are winter tyres mandatory in Poland? No, there is no calendar obligation. The police nevertheless recommend winter tyres. Which ones are on a specific car in February, ask the manager when booking.
What to take on a winter trip out of town on 14 February? A scraper, a shovel, a blanket, water, a thermos, a phone with a powerbank and a full tank: the Masovian Voivodeship police advise this set. Plan the trip around a sunset near 16:45-16:50.
