Premium and sports car rental cost in Warsaw: what the price is made of

What makes up the price of a premium or sports car rental in Warsaw: duration, insurance, delivery, second driver, travel abroad, fines. Hidden costs.

· Bohdan Olkhovyi ·12 min read

In short. The final price of a premium car in Warsaw is made up of the paid days, the services you choose and the surcharges set by the contract. Two things are counted separately: the money temporarily blocked on your card and your own share of any damage. Neither is a cost, both are obligations. Two offers are worth comparing only when the dates, the protection and the return terms are the same.

The question “how much does it cost” in premium rental almost always turns into “what exactly is included”. The daily rate for an Urus, a G 63 or an M4 says less about the price than it seems to: next to it sit the insurance terms, delivery, fuel, a second driver and the return rules. Below we break down what the final amount consists of, where unexpected costs appear, and how to compare two offers without fooling yourself.

What the final price consists of

A handy working model is this: paid periods, plus the services you choose, plus surcharges that arise under the rental agreement. Everything else, including the hold on your card and possible liability for damage, is counted separately. Do not merge these three into one figure, or any comparison loses its meaning.

ItemWhat to check
Days and durationHow many days are paid and how a partial day is counted. Rates may differ by rental length
Class and modelCompare only cars of the same class for the same dates and with the same protection
InsuranceWhat is included, which exclusions apply and what share stays with the customer
Delivery and returnAddress, airport, a different return point, late-night handover, waiting time
Second driverWhether they are listed in the contract and whether there is a surcharge
Travel abroadThe rental company’s consent, countries, territory covered by the insurance
Fuel and cleanlinessLevel at handover and at return, refuelling price, what counts as excessive dirt
Fines and feesThe fine from the authority and the rental company’s fee for processing the request are two separate lines

The European Consumer Centre in Poland (ECK, Europejskie Centrum Konsumenckie) lists exactly these points in its guidance for renters as part of checking the full price: fuel, additional products, late-night handover, a second driver, excess mileage. If an offer has no final amount covering them, that is a reason to ask before paying, not after.

Days, duration and season: what really changes the rate

The rate can depend on duration. Many rental companies lower the daily price in steps: the longer the rental, the lower the day. At Aurex the rate grid by duration is shown on each car’s page, and the minimum rental is one day. But “cheaper per day” does not mean “cheaper per trip”. If you take a car for a week and drive it for five days, the shorter period may turn out cheaper. What you need to calculate is the total for the whole period, not the advertised minimum.

Season and day of the week affect availability and the offer, but there is no universal rule. Claims like “weekdays are always cheaper” or “summer adds so many percent” have no confirmed data behind them, and for premium cars even less so. A more practical approach is to request the same car for two neighbouring dates and compare the total. That shows the difference in your own case, not in someone else’s statistics.

Current rates for each model are collected on the pricing page and in the car pages, for example Lamborghini Urus Performante, Mercedes-AMG G 63 or BMW M4 Competition. The figures there are updated, so we do not fix them in the article.

OC, AC, NNW and the deductible: what they are and what they do not promise

Policy names appear often in Polish contracts, and about half of customers understand them. Here is how it works.

  • OC (ubezpieczenie odpowiedzialności cywilnej, third-party liability insurance): covers harm caused to other people. Damage to the rented car itself is not paid out under it automatically.
  • AC (autocasco, comprehensive cover for the car): voluntary insurance of the vehicle itself. The scope, the exclusions and the deductible are set by the contract and the general insurance terms.
  • NNW (następstwa nieszczęśliwych wypadków, personal accident insurance): covers the consequences of accidents for people. It does not replace AC.
  • Deductible (udział własny): the customer’s share of a loss. It can be reduced for an extra fee if the rental company offers that option.

Under Aurex terms, compulsory OC and AC with a deductible are included in the price; the deductible depends on the model and can be reduced for an extra fee. Specific amounts are given in the offer for each car.

The name of a package does not replace the contract. “Full insurance” does not mean the customer is liable for nothing: the exclusions, the procedure for reporting an incident and a possible reimbursement scheme after the damage is paid are all checked in the document itself. This also applies to deductible cover bought from an intermediary: such a scheme may require the customer to pay for the damage first, with reimbursement arriving later.

Delivery, second driver, travel abroad, fuel

This is the block where it is easy to miss costs you did not think about when choosing the car. Below are the Aurex terms as written on the site and what is worth asking any rental company.

ItemHow it works at AurexWhat to ask everywhere
DeliveryPickup and return at the Warsaw office, the airport, a hotel or another address by arrangement. We deliver to Chopin Airport, not to ModlinWhether parking, waiting for a delayed flight and night-time hours are included
HoursWe work within the manager’s working hours; a handover earlier or later is paid separatelyWhether there is a surcharge for late-night handover
Second driverEvery extra driver is listed in the contract. The requirements are the same: 21 or older and a licence held for at least 2 yearsThe surcharge for a second driver
Travel abroadThe base rate covers Poland. Going abroad needs written consent and a surcharge for extended insuranceWhich countries are allowed and where the insurance applies
FuelReturn with the same level as at handover. Otherwise refuelling plus a handling feeThe price per litre and the size of the fee
MileageThe limit and the price of extra mileage are on the car’s page and in the price tableWhether the limit applies to the whole period and whether the handover day counts

A separate word on extra mileage. It is paid for on top and on a sports car it quickly becomes a noticeable line: a trip out of town burns through the limit fast. If you plan to go beyond the city, work out the route in advance and compare it with the limit, not with a gut feeling.

Fines, fees and costs discovered after return

Three groups of costs are worth checking in advance.

First: damage found after return. In April 2026 the Polish consumer protection office UOKiK (Urząd Ochrony Konkurencji i Konsumentów) reported consumer complaints about damage charges and brought objections against the terms of one rental company that place excessive liability on the customer. This is the stage of allegations, not a decision on every disputed charge. The practical conclusion is simple: what decides is not memory but the handover protocol and photos taken at pickup and return. How to make them is covered in the article on the deposit for a premium car rental.

Second: fines and the fee for processing them. There are two lines here: the fine itself from the authority and a separate fee charged by the rental company for handling the request and passing on data. Ask for documents on each of them. ECK recommends checking the list of additional fees before signing the contract rather than discovering it on the receipt.

Third: fuel, cleanliness and lateness. Under Aurex terms, returning with a lower fuel level incurs refuelling and a handling fee, heavy dirt beyond the norm is charged at the actual cleaning cost, smoking in the cabin carries a separate penalty, and a late return is charged at an increased daily rate for each started day. Amounts and procedure are confirmed at booking.

A separate word on cancellation. Free cancellation with us applies up to 48 hours before handover; the terms for later cancellation are confirmed at booking. A typical mistake is to count on the standard consumer withdrawal period. For renting a car for a specific date or period, the exception is written directly into art. 38 pkt 12 ustawy o prawach konsumenta (the Polish Consumer Rights Act), so cancellation terms are read in the contract and in the rules of the particular rental company.

How to save money without taking risks

Savings in premium rental almost never come from giving up protection. They come from not paying for what you do not need and not losing money on planning mistakes.

  • Count the whole period. If a week is cheaper per day but you use the car for four days, compare both totals in full.
  • Request the same car for nearby dates. Shifting by a day either makes a real difference or does not; nobody promises guaranteed savings from booking early.
  • Put identical terms side by side: mileage, protection, delivery, return. A cheap offer without these items cannot be compared with a pricier one that includes them.
  • Do not drop protection you need for the sake of a low rate. First see what share stays with you, then decide whether to pay to reduce it.
  • Plan delivery ahead. If your route starts at the airport, give your flight number: waiting of up to an hour for a delayed flight is included, anything longer is paid separately.

Three amounts you must not add together

When two offers lie side by side, split each into three lines. First: how much you pay for the rental and the services you chose. Second: what amount will be temporarily unavailable on your card during the rental and after it. Third: up to what limit you are liable for damage and on what terms. A rental company with a low first line and a large third may end up costing more than one with a high first line and a clear third. How the second line works and when it is released is described in detail in the piece on the deposit. The terms of our deposit are given on the car’s page and in the rental conditions.

Who this is for and who it is not

This way of calculating will help people who choose a car for a short period and compare several rental companies: it helps to see the difference in terms rather than in the advertised figure. It is also useful for those heading out of town or abroad: that is where extra mileage, travel approval and extended insurance come in.

If you need a single final figure without reading the contract, the article will not replace that. The exact amount comes only from a calculation for your dates, with your duration and delivery, so you get the final price in the offer for a specific car. Those thinking about a long term and comparing renting with buying or leasing need a different calculation: it depends on annual mileage, taxes and upkeep, and it does not fit into one article about daily rental. For models such as BMW X7 40i or Porsche Taycan, which suit family trips and business travel in terms of space, compare the delivery terms as well, not only the day rate.

Current rates are on the price page, and the rental rules are in the rental conditions.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to rent a car for a full day? It depends on the model, the dates and the duration, so there is no single figure for the premium class. Prices for mass-market classes do not carry over to a G 63 or an Urus, and there is no honest market average for them. The exact amount for your dates is shown on the pricing page and in the offer for the chosen car.

Is renting worth it compared with owning a car? There is no universal answer: it depends on the scenario, the duration, the mileage and the protection. Renting for a few days and owning a car are compared by different rules, and leasing is a separate topic. For daily rental, count the full cost for the period, including services and surcharges, not just the daily rate.

Is a rental car insured? You need to check this in the contract: third-party liability and cover for damage to the car itself are different things. At Aurex the price includes compulsory insurance and comprehensive cover with a deductible, the size of which depends on the model. What exactly is excluded, check in the contract.

Can a driver under 25 rent a car? Age conditions differ between rental companies and there is no single rule. At Aurex a driver aged 21 or older with a licence held for at least 2 years and no serious traffic offences can rent. Age and experience requirements are the same for all cars.

Why might fines arrive after the rental, and how do I check a charge? A fine is imposed by an authority, and the rental company may pass on the driver’s details and charge a separate fee for processing the request. Ask for the document about the offence and the calculation of that fee, if there is one. If you doubt the basis for a charge, first file a written complaint with the rental company.

Can extra insurance and fuel charges be added at pickup? That is decided by the booking confirmation and the contract. Before paying, make sure all the options you chose are listed in the confirmation and that you have read the fuel and fee rules. If an item appears at handover that was not in the booking, ask for a written basis before signing, not after.
