The G-Class is one of the few cars to have kept an almost unchanged silhouette since its 1979 debut. The rectangular body, flat glass, exposed handles and hinges, the distinctive sound of the door closing — all of it was carried into the modern generation deliberately, even though aerodynamics and technology had long allowed otherwise. The AMG G63 version adds a twin-turbo V8 and a chassis retuned for the road, but changes nothing about what defines the model's character.
Reviewers consistently note the contradiction built into this car. It drives like a large, tall vehicle on a ladder frame, with visible body roll and steering that lacks the precision of a sports saloon — and at the same time it accelerates faster than most sports cars of a decade ago and sounds like a muscle car. That contrast is exactly why people choose a G63 over any more modern SUV.
The second recurring theme is presence. The G63 is recognised by people who take no interest in cars, and in practice that counts for more than any technical figure. In this fleet it is the car with the strongest visual effect after the Lamborghini, while being considerably easier to live with.
The AUREX example is a 2025 model year. The powertrain is a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 585 hp and 850 Nm, with an automatic gearbox and 4MATIC all-wheel drive. Zero to 100 km/h takes 4.3 seconds and top speed is 240 km/h.
That is the lowest top speed in the entire AUREX fleet, and it is not accidental. The angular silhouette carries aerodynamic drag that power cannot overcome, so the manufacturer deliberately set the limiter lower than on other AMG models. In practice it makes no difference at all: 850 Nm available from almost idle means that within the speed range people actually use, the G63 has nothing to worry about.
From the factory the G63 has five doors and five seats. The interior is markedly more modern than the body — a modern infotainment system with smartphone integration, comfortable seats, driver assistance and parking support. That last item matters: the vertical rear panel and high bonnet line restrict visibility more than in a typical SUV. Trim can vary between examples — confirm the details when booking if the car is heading in front of a camera.
The G63 is easier in the city than its appearance suggests. The body is shorter than the BMW X7 40i, and the rectangular proportions mean the corners are exactly where you expect them — after a few manoeuvres, parking in underground garages in Wola or Mokotów stops being a problem. Do check the entrance height: the tall silhouette can be an issue in older garages in Śródmieście limited to under two metres.
Firm body-on-frame suspension copes with Warsaw's road surface better than the low sports cars in this fleet — speed bumps, tram crossings in Praga and mounting kerbs do not demand the caution the Lamborghini Urus Performante forces on you. The Clean Transport Zone in the central districts poses no restriction for a 2025 petrol engine.
You can collect the car from our office at Nowy Świat 54/56, or we will deliver it to the Chopin Airport terminal, to Modlin, or to any other address in Warsaw.
A wedding or a family celebration is the most common scenario. The G63 is presentable and tall — getting in wearing a gown or a suit takes no gymnastics — and its silhouette photographs unlike anything else. There is a practical argument too: five seats and a normal boot mean the car also works for moving guests and belongings, not just for pictures outside the church.
The second scenario is a photo or video shoot. The third is business representation, particularly in sectors where the G-Class is a recognised signal.
The fourth is long-term rental, and here the G63 looks unexpectedly good within this fleet. Unlike the Urus it has comfortable suspension on poor surfaces, and unlike the low coupés it works in any conditions year-round. Fuel consumption is high and that has to go into the calculation, but on practicality it is one of the two best cars in the catalogue for monthly use. Terms for extended periods are agreed individually.
Two SUVs at a comparable price point with opposed premises. The G63 has 585 hp, body-on-frame construction and a silhouette unchanged for four decades. The Urus Performante has 666 hp, reaches 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and tops out at 305 km/h — it is faster by every measure.
But the choice does not reduce to numbers. The G63 is more recognisable to people outside the car world, considerably more comfortable on uneven roads and easier to live with day to day. The Urus delivers sports car performance and wins anywhere the road is winding and smooth — and there are not many such roads around Warsaw.
If what you need above all is space and passenger comfort, neither car is the right answer — in that case look at the BMW X7 40i with its three rows of seats.
The G63 has one advantage: you do not have to choose the route around the suspension. It goes everywhere, including where the tarmac ends. The natural direction is Masuria on the S8 through Ostrów Mazowiecka, basing yourself in Mikołajki or Giżycko with the option of turning onto forest and gravel roads around the lakes that the rest of this fleet simply cannot take.
Closer to home: the Kampinos Forest and Żelazowa Wola, an hour west, with sections through Palmiry and Truskaw. The southern direction runs on the S17 to Kazimierz Dolny and onwards to Nałęczów — a hundred and forty kilometres each way and the best photographic locations within sensible reach.
For a longer expedition the Bieszczady are realistic: about five hundred kilometres on the S17 and S19, with the Great Bieszczady Loop when you arrive. It is the one route in Poland where the G-Class can use what it was originally designed for.
It is the most common reason this car is rented from AUREX. The high seating position is comfortable in a gown or a suit, the silhouette photographs well, and five seats plus a normal boot allow you to move guests and belongings too.
The angular G-Class silhouette carries high aerodynamic drag, so the manufacturer set the electronic limit at 240 km/h — the lowest in the entire AUREX fleet. Within the usable speed range it makes no difference: 850 Nm of torque is available from almost idle.
Yes. We deliver to the Chopin Airport terminal, to Modlin and to any address in Warsaw. You can also collect from our office at Nowy Świat 54/56. Place and time are agreed when we confirm the booking.
The G63 has 585 hp, body-on-frame construction, 4.3 seconds to 100 km/h and the status of an icon everyone recognises. The Urus Performante has 666 hp, 3.3 seconds and 305 km/h, but firmer suspension and lower ground clearance. The G63 is easier day to day, the Urus faster.
Less so than its appearance suggests: the body is shorter than the BMW X7, and rectangular proportions make the corners easier to judge. Do check the garage entrance height — some older facilities in Śródmieście are limited to under two metres.
